RULES

 

Academic Session:


The Academic session commences from 1st of July every year and ends on the following 30th of June.

 


Admission


The process of admission to First Year classes starts every year shortly after the publication of the result of Higher Secondary Examination in West Bengal. Based on the norms and principles determined by the College in accordance with the admission rules of the CalcuttaUniversity, selection of students for admission to different courses is done Strictly on Merit by the college authority.

 


Online Admission Process:


The On-Line Admission process has been introduced by the College as per the rules and instructions of the Higher Education Department of the Government of West Bengal. The students who are willing to take admission in the 1st Year courses in the academic session 2017 – 18should login and go to the respective link of the college website for filling up and submitting online application forms. Before filling up the form the candidate must carefully go through the various rules and regulations regarding the admission process, form fill-upand fees requirements.

After successful submission of admission forms through Online Admission process and deposition of the required fees the candidate should submit the attested and verified copies of their certificates and other documents required for admission to the college in Hard Copies.

The candidate should note the important dates regarding the Online Admission Process which will be given later.

• The Aggregate marks are to be calculated on the basis of the best of four subjects excluding environmental studies.

• A candidate must have secured pass marks in the subjects/allied subjects which he/she has applied for.

 

General rules for admission in all streams:

 

1. Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations (ISC/CBSE/Others) in 2014and onwards are eligible to seek admission to the 1st Year     B.A. Honours and General Courses.

 

2. Admission will be strictly on the basis of merit.

 

3. Application for admission must be done through Online Process.

 

4. Merit list of all the departments and the concerned dates will be published on the college website (www.shishuramdascollegeonlineadmission.com or     www.shishuramdascollege.com) and will also be displayed on the college notice board.

 

5. Change of Honours or General subject can be done only as per college regulations based strictly on the University rules.

 

6. As per the reservation rules of the government, the University of Calcutta and the University Grants Commission, 22% seats for SC, 6% seats for ST, 10% seats for     OBC-A, 7% seats for OBC-B and 3% seats for Physically Challenged students are reserved.

 

7. The Calcutta University has prescribed that “A candidate taking up Honours must have obtained:

 

    i) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate with 45% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination in which that subject is included. Or

 

    ii) 55% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination. Or

 

   iii) 50% marks in aggregate when the candidate takes up Honours in the subject not included in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are          satisfied”.

The Admission Criteria for SC/ST candidates is strictly maintained as per the guidelines of the University of Calcutta. The SC/ST candidates taking up Honours have to score at least 40% marks in aggregate (best of four) or 40% marks in related subjects at the previous qualifying examination.

 

8. The candidates are required to fill up the Online Application form carefully. The college authority will not be responsible for any mistake or anomaly in this regard.

 

9. The admission to any course of the college is provisional and subject to approval of the University of Calcutta.

 

 

Documents to be submitted as Hard Copies at the time of admission.

 

a) Print out of the Online Admission Form.

 

b) Two recent Passport Size Photographs.

 

c) Proof of Date of Birth (attested copy of Birth Certificate and Admit Card of Madhyamik or Equivalent Examination). Original certificates are to be produced at the time of     admission.

 

d) Attested copy of Mark Sheet of Madhyamik or Equivalent Examination.

 

e) Attested copy of Mark Sheet of Higher Secondary or Equivalent Examination.

 

f) Attested copy of SC/ST/OBCCertificate is to be producedat the time of admission (for reserved candidates only).

 

g) Attested copy of Physically Handicapped Certificate is to be producedat the time of admission (for physically handicapped applicants only).

 

h) Original copy of income certificate of the guardian (certificate must be issued by the employer for Govt./Semi-Govt./Private Concern employee and for others by the     Municipality Chairman/Pradhan of Gram Panchayat).

 

i) BPL Card (If Applicable)

 

j) Original Migration Certificate/Original copy of the School Leaving Certificate (to be issued by the Head of the Institution last attended).

 

k) Students getting transferred from other colleges have to produce original Transfer Certificates.
