The NSS unit of our college is under the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of H.R.D and Government of India. The NSS Unit of Shishuram Das College has been functioning since 2010. This voluntary national service was approved by the University of Calcutta in 2024.

Every year 100 students from first year are admitted to this unit. The scheme is used to organize various Social Service Programmes throughout the year in the college campus as well as in different villages. The NSS of the college motivates the students to think and work for the people. It is involved in a number of extension activities like organizing blood-donation camp and medical camp, visiting destitute home and distributing clothes and food packets, distributing stationaries and books to slum children, organizing campus cleaning programmes, observance of various important days, etc.
